Concert Bands

Wind Ensemble

Open to students in grades 9-12 by audition only. This ensemble comprises the most outstanding instrumental musicians at Ravenwood High School. This group will have a primary focus of preparing the finest literature for the modern wind band. Students in this ensemble should have the desire to be pushed musically and personally beyond the normal standard of the band program. This is considered an honors class at RHS and thus has similar expectations.

Wind Symphony

Open to students in grades 9-12 by audition only. The primary focus of this group is the development of upper-level ensemble skills.  This group will perform literature written for proficient high school wind bands.

Symphonic Band

Open to all students in grades 9-12 with or without prior band experience. This ensemble will concentrate on the continuation of the development of skills such as tone production, rhythmic proficiency, balance, and technical ability.
