Join the crowd and order your Show Shirt to show your support for the RHS Marching Band at competitions. Show Shirts are available to Students, Family and Friends. The shirt is designed to complement the Marching Band theme each year and is a great way to show your support.
Each student receives one (1) shirt. We recommend you consider purchasing an additional student shirt since they must be worn for Friday night football games and Saturday competitions.
Mrs. King sent out an email containing the order form. Please fill it out and drop it, along with your payment, in the lock box by the Director's office.
Everyone please be sure to introduce yourselves to Mr. Brant Poindexter, our new assistant band director. He is a recent graduate of Tennessee Tech University and has a tremendous experience in Marching Band and Drum Corp International. Mr. Poindexter has already proven to be an asset to our program and the kids are really enjoying working with him. When you see Mr. Poindexter be sure to make him feel welcome to the RHS Band Family.
We are very proud of these two seniors! They have been selected to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. The band is made up of 125 of the Nation's top senior marching musicians. They will travel to San Antonio, Texas, where they will perform the halftime show in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, in the Alamodome on Saturdary, January 9, 2016, which will be televised live on NBC.
The Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform as a Featured Band at the 2016 National Concert Festival. This talented group of musicians is one of eighteen bands from across the country that have been invited to perform. RHS is one of six Tennessee bands to be invited to the National Concert Festival since it began in 1992. We are one of a few that have been invited a second time. The Wind Ensemble was invited in 2012, so some of our musicians will have participated at both performances. The Wind Ensemble will perform in Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN.
The TMEA has selected the Wind Ensemble to perform as the Tennessee Bandmasters Association's Hall of Fame Band. They will perform during the induction ceremony of the newest members of the Tennessee Hall of Fame.
