When Is Band Camp?

BAND CAMP WEEK July 27th-July 31st 2009

  • Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to every rehearsal to get settled and to the practice area early so that rehearsal can begin on time.
  • Here are some important guidelines to help insure that we get the maximum benefit from the time we spend in band camp. Please read the following guidelines...they are based on years of experience. (from your Band Director!)  Guide to a Successful Band Camp

We Will End On Time!

What Should I Wear?

You should wear light colored t-shirts and shorts, no long pants.  Wear sturdy tennis shoes and socks, not high tops as they will interfere with marching technique.  You may wear a hat to shade your face, but no sun glasses which may blur the drum major’s conducting patterns.

What Should I Bring?

Besides your music and your instrument, you should bring a quart or half gallon container for your personal water.  Fill it 1/3 full of ice and 2/3 full of water.  It should be easy and quick to re-fill.  We will not be providing cups for break periods this year, but will try to have plenty of water for you to refill your container (i.e. waterbottle, personal cooler, etc).  Bring Gatorade also if you like; it will help especially when you stay all day.  Bring and use plenty of sunscreen!

Do I Need To Bring My Own Lunch?

NO!!There has been a change to the plan and now all meals will be provided!

What Else?

If you have not turned in a Student Information Form or the Health Travel Forms, please download these from the Forms tab and bring them in on the first day of band camp for you.  We can arrange to have your signature notarized if you will let us know.

What Is The Schedule For The Rest Of The Season?

There is a Calendar on the web site. There will also be a Weekly Schedule posted with important dates and Directions to events. The Calendar is a Google Calendar, feel free to add dates on our calendar to your own Google Calendar. Need help? Email

What If I Have More Questions or Want To Help?

Please contact any board member at any time for any information or to let us know you are available!  Contact information is under the OFFICERS button on the menu.  Please see the Volunteer Page for lots of places that you can plug in to help with Marching Band all season!

We are all looking forward to a great year and are glad you will be part of it!
